Kids can take a toll on your home. Learn how to patch walls.
Paint your walls a solid color. Color hides jelly fingerprints better than white walls.
Painting a solid color is easier to patch and touch up than wallpaper or a faux finish.
Keep extra paint in small containers (Mayo jars). That makes it easier to do quick touch-ups before a party (repair damage after).
Our kitchen table is also used for arts and crafts, homework, etc. It has some scratches and sharpie marks. I have a tablecloth always ready for a quick cover-up.
To hide an abused couch – sharpie all over the cushions – I put a contrasting blanket over the offending cushions. I can easily remove to wash.
Use a handyman when necessary. Know your limits. I can paint and patch, but I would never attempt electrical.
Convert two twins into a king bed.
Baby Signs
I can’t say enough about the use of sign language with babies. Joseph Garcia noticed as an interpreter for the deaf, that hearing children of deaf parents could communicate much sooner than they could speak.
Grocery Shopping
My best advice - go without the kids or send your husband, partner or friend.
Here are some other suggestions to help ease your pain:
Laundry
Consider laundry to be continuous rather than having a start and finish. You will become less frustrated, because laundry never ends. My advice is more geared towards doing laundry for a large family.
