- Kids can take a toll on your home. Learn how to patch walls.
- Paint your walls a solid color. Color hides jelly fingerprints better than white walls.
- Painting a solid color is easier to patch and touch up than wallpaper or a faux finish.
- Keep extra paint in small containers (Mayo jars). That makes it easier to do quick touch-ups before a party (repair damage after).
- Our kitchen table is also used for arts and crafts, homework, etc. It has some scratches and sharpie marks. I have a tablecloth always ready for a quick cover-up.
- To hide an abused couch – sharpie all over the cushions – I put a contrasting blanket over the offending cushions. I can easily remove to wash.
- Use a handyman when necessary. Know your limits. I can paint and patch, but I would never attempt electrical.
- Convert two twins into a king bed.
