Don’t panic. It makes everything else worse. If you panic, your kids and spouse will panic. If your kids are scared – you freaking out will freak them out.
Remain calm – no matter what!!!
Think about what you need to do next. Think a couple steps ahead.
- Does someone need to get the kids?
- Do you need to call your husband?
- Grab snacks. Hospital food sucks.
Think, Think, Think.
Call your source of calm. Who will calm you down and help you strategize what needs to be done?
Think logically, linear and backwards.
Ask for help. Ask for advice. More people are willing to help out in an emergency than you realize.
