These are my suggestions for items to always have with you then you have the kids. Items will vary on the age and quantity of children.

I no longer carry a diaper bag. Now I carry a large messenger bag. I have a small purse (for quick get-a-ways) with my wallet, cash and breath mints. I can grab and go, leaving my big bag in the car.

In the diaper bag:

  • Sarong
  • Wipes
  • 2x as many diapers as you think you need
  • 2 or 3 changes of clothes
  • Zip lock bags (to hold wet/soiled clothes)
  • Empty bottle (even if you are nursing)
  • Binky’s – 3
  • Bibs
  • Spit cloths
  • Snacks
  • Small, sealed water bottle in double ziplock bag
  • T-shirt for you
  • Small purse (for quick get away!)
  • Tissue

In the bag:

  • Bored bag
  • Insurance Card
  • Wipe
  • Pads/Tampons
  • Chap Stick
  • Sunscreen Stick
  • Small Purse
  • Snacks
  • Disposabile Sippy Cups
  • First Aid Kit
  • Plastic Dinnerware
  • Technophiles - Extra earphones & Splitter
  • Tissue

In the car:

  • Change of Clothes & Shoes
  • Wipes
  • Sunscreen
  • Small Water Bottles
  • Blanket/Sarong
  • Jackets
  • Crayons/Paper
  • Plastic Grocery Bags (no holes in bottom)
  • Tissues
  • Snacks
  • Paper Towels
  • Gloves, Laytex
  • Gloves for warmth

Tip:

If all else fails,
smile and nod.
